Joseph (Joe) Hornyak has been practicing law since 1990, focusing on representing companies that do business with the federal government.  For the past eight years, he served as the General Counsel of Red River Technology LLC, a leading private equity-backed provider of IT solutions to government and commercial entities.  He helped guide Red River in its sale to an affiliate of Cerberus Capital in 2021. 

Prior to joining Red River, Mr. Hornyak was a partner in the government contracts group of Holland & Knight LLP, where he was recognized as one of the nation’s best government contracts lawyers in the Chambers USA Guide.  Over the years, he has represented a wide range of companies, from small businesses in all recognized socioeconomic categories, to large Fortune 500 companies.  Mr. Hornyak has extensive experience with bid protests, prime-subcontractor disputes, M&A support, and joint ventures and teaming arrangements.  With over two decades in national law firms and nearly eight years as inside counsel, he brings a unique and practical perspective to his practice.

Mr. Hornyak received his JD with honors from the University of Maryland in 1990 and is a member of the Maryland and Virginia bars.
